Community Chest Annual General Meeting 2009
The 81th Annual General Meeting of the Community Chest took place at the Baxter Theatre on the 14 October 2009 at the Athlone Civic Centre.
With around 300 donors, beneficiaries and other stakeholders in attendance Amelia Jones, Chief Executive Officer opened the meeting welcoming all, with a special welcome to those who had travelled far to be there.
Mrs Jones handed over to the Chairman, Prof. Brian OConnell. He shared some anecdotes on the good ol days and ended by reminding all that dreams were nothing without hope.
Community Chest staff member Debbie Bergman received a long service award for 20 years of comittment to the organisation. Direct Axis received the People Helping People award for the contribution to the Give-As-You-Earn programme. Lyndsey Sadie, a grade 11 pupil at South Peninsula High School received a pioneer Youth Volunteer award in recognition of her many acts of goodwill and her commitment to her community.
It was then down to business. After all formalities were handled, the meeting was closed with the National Anthem and guests were invited to enjoy light refreshments.

Direct Axis received the People Helping People award for the contribution to the Give-As-You-Earn programme. Lyndsey Sadie, a grade 11 pupil at South Peninsula High School received a pioneer Youth Volunteer award in recognition of her many acts of goodwill and her commitment to her community.
It was then down to business. After all formalities were handled, the meeting was closed with the National Anthem and guests were invited to enjoy light refreshments.

Community Chest Annual General Meeting 2009
The 81th Annual General Meeting of the Community Chest took place at the Baxter Theatre on the 14 October 2009 at the Athlone Civic Centre.
With around 300 donors, beneficiaries and other stakeholders in attendance Amelia Jones, Chief Executive Officer opened the meeting welcoming all, with a special welcome to those who had travelled far to be there.
Mrs Jones handed over to the Chairman, Prof. Brian OConnell. He shared some anecdotes on the good ol days and ended by reminding all that dreams were nothing without hope.
Community Chest staff member Debbie Bergman received a long service award for 20 years of comittment to the organisation.
