In addition to our Grant-Making Programme, we process grants on behalf of our donor partners. The DAG programme draws on our long history of providing social investment intelligence to the donors who wish to invest in the NPO sector.
Through DAG, donors can maximise their impacts through investing in quality-assured NPOs. It also eases the administration of paying out grants to multiple smaller organisations. This allows us to provide social impact reporting for future strategic investments.
Through the DAG programme, donors can (a) request that we provide grants to pre-selected beneficiaries or (b) request that we provide grants to organisations that meet the donor’s requirements, within our existing platinum or gold standard due diligence compliant organisations network within the specified due diligence period.
If donors choose the first option, all selected organisations are required to complete our Due Diligence process.
If the selected organisations are not found to be Due Diligence compliant on the standard agreed upon with the donor, we are still able to facilitate the grant payments after consultation with the donor, with the risks are clearly articulated and with the donor’s written approval for audit records.
DAG grants can be paid to beneficiaries annually, monthly or once-off, depending on the donor’s specifications.
The DAG programme procedure is:
- A DAG donor presents a list of potential organisations for investment to us for Due Diligence assessment, or specifies an amount of funds it wishes to allocate along with the necessary requirements for distribution (geographic areas, sectoral focus, etc.) and requests that we present nominated grantees and recommendations.
- We conduct a comprehensive Due Diligence assessment on all organisations presented by the donor.
- A full Due Diligence report is presented to the donor, outlining the recommendations for grants as well as the identified risks.
- Upon approval of our recommendations, the donor transfers the grant amount to us.
- We engage with the approved grantees, transfer the funds allocated to them by the donor, and continually engage with the grantees to track progress and measure impacts as a result of the DAG grant.
