The Community Chest of the Western Cape has been a trusted steward of philanthropy and a strategic social development partner in South Africa for 98 years. Founded in 1928 in response to a poverty crisis, Community Chest operates to alleviate poverty across all nine provinces, primarily throughout the Western Cape. Our work is enabled through partnership with donors, corporations, trusts, civil society organisations and the public at large to collectively mobilise resources to support and strengthen our most vulnerable communities.
