Humanitarian Relief

The Community Chest of the Western Cape has launched the Humanitarian Relief Fund to address the escalating humanitarian crisis in the greater Western Cape region. This initiative is a direct response to the increasing frequency and intensity of natural and human-made disasters that have been impacting local communities. From severe storms and flooding to the socioeconomic challenges exacerbated by these events, the need for a comprehensive and coordinated relief effort has never been more urgent.

The Humanitarian Relief Fund is designed to provide essential support and resources to communities in distress, ensuring that those affected receive timely and effective assistance. In collaboration with the Western Cape Disaster Management Centre and the City of Cape Town Disaster and Risk Management Centre, the fund seeks to mobilise resources and expertise to meet the immediate and long-term needs of vulnerable populations.
