Donations-In-Kind

The Community Chest Donation-In-Kind Programme facilitates non-monetary donations to pre-vetted organisations across the Western Cape, providing essential resources to support NPOs, NPCs, Trusts and Educational Institutions in their operations and programmatic implementation. This initiative ensures that organisations working to alleviate poverty receive the necessary goods and supplies to maximise their impact in communities.

Application Process:

The DIK application consists of four parts:

PART 1: Organisation Details – Complete the form here
PART 2: Director/CEO Details – Complete the form here
PART 3: Due Diligence – Complete the form here
PART 4: Document Upload – Complete the form here

  1. First-time applicants must complete all four parts.
  2. Returning beneficiaries whose organisation and director details remain unchanged should complete Parts 3 & 4.
  3. All requests are subject to availability.
  4. Submission of an application does not guarantee allocation of goods.
  5. Incomplete applications, including those missing required documents, will not be processed.
  6. Products will only be released with a valid collection note.
  7. The resale of any donation-in-kind items is strictly prohibited.
  8. Community Chest reserves the right to conduct ad-hoc visits to ensure due diligence.
  9. Organisations receiving donations must submit a Thank You Letter on an official letterhead, signed by the CEO/Director.

Required Documents:

  1. Signed & dated Founding Document (e.g., Constitution, Trust Deed, MOI)
  2. NPO Registration Certificate or NPC Certificate
  3. PBO Certificate (Optional)
  4. Proof of Address (not older than 3 months)
  5. B-BBEE Affidavit (signed & dated, not older than 3 months)

Terms & Conditions:

  1. Donations depend on product availability.
  2. Completion of the DIK application does not guarantee the receipt of goods.
  3. Organisations must respond promptly to any requests for clarification.
  4. All submitted documents will be treated as confidential.
  5. The DIK application must be submitted annually.
